Cancer on TV

I think the lymph scar may be infected.

Lesley brought round my re-upholstered chair (along with foot cushion and lumbar cushion) and it is beautiful.

I started watching two new TV series (might as well, I do have some time off) and they both had cancer in the first episode. Breaking Bad – teacher gets diagnosed with terminal cancer, turns to cooking crystal meth to make money for his family. Battlestar Galactica – Cylons destroy the world, the President of the colonies has breast cancer. But she struggles on. Obviously.

Fortunately I am not highly emotional and therefore see no need to get upset because cancer is on TV. I did, however, try and wash up a couple of cups and a plate earlier and then get massively upset that I couldn’t cope with it and I’m debilitated and I hate not being healthy etc etc. I suspect this is a normal part of going from being fit and healthy to having cancer to having surgery and not being able to do anything all within a couple of months. If you’re used to doing things for yourself and your family and then something as simple as wiping a sponge over a plate makes you feel like you’re dying, you’re bound to get a bit upset.

I have not had a snooze today for the first time since the op, which is good as the boys are back tomorrow and I’m going to need to muster up some energy to deal with them. And by deal with them, I mean tune out the bickering and bad behaviour, because if today is anything to go by, I’ll be kissing them goodnight and that’s about it.
