Pain Manager

A bit like Football Manager, but with drugs and a timer.

I’m so full of codeine I can’t remember whether I’ve just taken medication or need to so I’ve started setting an alarm for various times of the day to remind me when it’s actually time to double drop the opiates and anti-inflammatories. Which the hospital sent me home without. I’m not going to complain because they did see me quickly, diagnose my cancer quickly, cut it out quickly and look after me well during surgery, and my doctor gave me some yesterday so it’s all good.

I have no feeling on the inside of my upper arm, so I’m hoping they didn’t cut a nerve while removing the lymph node to test and that once the swelling goes down, all normal feelings will resume. However, even if they did, it’s a small price to pay for being cancer free.

My nurse is still asleep. He’s been tolerant above and beyond his normal capacity for a year within just 3 days. So I’ll leave him to it.
